Companies incorporated prior to March 29, 2004 must file a transition application by March 29, 2006.
The new BC Business Corporations Act is now in place, bringing new streamlined electronic filing processes for limited companies. However, in order for companies to transition to the new Act, companies incorporated prior to March 29, 2004 must file a transition application prior to the March 29, 2006 deadline. Failure to do so could result in your company being removed from the company registry.
Transition application filing for smaller, simpler type company ownerships can be done on-line at https://www.corporateonline.gov.bc.ca. For more complex ownership or share structure situations, it is recommended that you contact your lawyer prior to filing your transition application.
